    Florida Summer Event Idea

In MN in January they have the Frozen Butt Hang. I live in Florida and I suggest the exact opposite for the Summer adventurous "The Sweltering ExsHANGuination". It would be a hang camping meet in Central or Southern Florida at the height of the Glorious Florida Summer. For those that might require the break down sweltering is 90 plus degrees, oppressive humidity and afternoon torrential rain. The ExsHANGuination is a playful way to indicate that the mosquitos, no-see-ums and flies will suck you dry.

Yes but to some freezing your tuchas off in MN at -20 F sounds horrible. I look on this as a life challenge. A Nietzsche weekend. That which does not kill me makes me stronger. No seriously I would do it who else is crazy enough to join me.

Ditto, but I admire your dedication to taking things to a different level. I'll take -13 below in Michigan at Green Timbers with hourly rations of hot crispy bacon and coffee. Meanwhile, its in the 90's here now and we've got a group hang planned for this weekend. Bring on the heat and we'll be with you in spirit!

Go for it. There's no such thing as bad hanging weather.

I am a Michigan transplanted to Florida. Been here 4 years. Wish I was there hanging in the mitten instead, but I can't. (Softy weeping)

We call it the no under quilt hang it just happened 2 weekends ago in the Ocala national forest. Just as you described. Oh it's a hike in event, no car camping. Look for the trip reports in the outings section. We will be heading back out in September for the summers last gasp hang if you would like to join. Keep an eye on the southeast trip planning thread. It's an experience.
