Video: Caribou's Loop, 5 days, 36 miles, Salamajärvi National Park

    Hi folks,

I've got a new hiking video out and it's a rather long one. I wrote a "chapter menu" into the video description page to make it easier to come back to it later. This time I'm in the Salamajärvi (literally Lightning Lake) National Park with my hammock and hiked the Caribou's Loop. Check it out, I'd appreciate some feedback and as always, english subtitles are available.

I really enjoyed your video, and thought it was very well done. Thank you for sharing it. It was nice to see an area outside of the US....beautiful! You obviously put a lot of work into making it. The subtitles were great and the entire video kept my interest while enjoying my morning coffee. Of course I had to have a second cup to finish it.

Thanks Bizzz! I've read a couple of times how the woods of Finland are very similar to Minnesota. It seems I must go even further North to show a completely different scenery!

I do have some experience with film and television, so the technical aspect comes to me very naturally. I'm glad it shows, but honestly, the thing that requires most work are writing and timing the english subtitles, and stomach watching myself infront of the camera... I've usually been behind the lens and stage, so hopefully I get to improve on that with time.

Looks like some really flat land there. Beautiful scenery. You were soaking wet alot. Embrace the brutality! Thanks for sharing =)

Yeah, Finland's geography is pretty much devoid from hills and mountains. We mostly have forests, bogs and small fells. I never found myself in a real downpour, which was an experience I was aiming for with the forecast, but the constant precipitation soaked me pretty gently. It was a good test of my clothing and I had a fun time. Thanks for the comment!

The actual video is so long that I decided to edit together a short 60 second teaser: https://youtu.be/SBXHY1PHoMs

Enjoyed the teaser...I'll get around to the full feature film.
Mountain views are good for the soul....& getting to them is good for my waistline.
