That's really cool. That water is way down hunh? Those hornets sound terrible. I'd keep moving for sure.

I would rather be in the woods... my dog would rather be in the pool. My wife thinks we are both nuts.

Hey man, great post. Who new a fellow hammocker around Tokyo. I've done that hike and similar from Mitake station to Mitsumine shrine. But I can't bare the heat, thr mozzies and the giant sparrow bees, the evil flying orange and black devils. Can't deal... I normally wait for the cooler months. March, April Sept, October. Much nice weather.

Amazing pics. I would love to visit Japan, who knows I may still be stationed there at some point in my career. I think one of the most enjoyable hikes I have done was while stationed in England. I could never find anyone to go with me so it was always an out and back type trip. Its just a different feeling hiking in a foreign land, lucky for me I didn't have hornets to deal with. However, I had some type of weasel follow me for what seemed like miles. Every time I would stop or turn around and look back up trail I would see it dart off the trail. Was pretty funny to be stalked by what looked like a ferret.
