    Hello from Ohio!

    Hi all!

Newer to HammockForums, but have been hanging for a few years. (I registered a while back, but then never read much...) Won my first hammock at a BSA event - Simon Kenton Council's Thunderbase 2014. It's a Warbonnet Blackbird. Been hanging ever since.

I've made the rest of my gear - fly, under quilt, & top quilt. It wasn't that difficult since both my wife and my mother are quilters.

Mostly I get out with the Boy Scouts, but for the past two years I've done a road trip west. This year was Rocky Mountain, Black Canyon, Great Sand Dunes, Arches, and Canyonlands. Surprisingly the NPS rangers were cool with hanging as long as I didn't cut into the trees. Too bad smaller agencies aren't so open minded.

Anyone from Central Ohio? I'm up in Delaware county.

Welcome (back) to the Hammock forums. There's a ton of info in these forums and plenty of room for more.

Welcome to the forums from Marietta GA. Good on you for making your gear! I haven't made the leap into sewing.. er um.. I mean injecting thread into gear yet. Happy hanging!

Hey neighbor! Northern KY hanger here but I like to venture north every now and then. I keep meaning to check out some of the backpacking trails in Wayne NP.

I'd suggest Wildcat Hollow. But take all your water. Everything I've found there looks somewhat oily.

Hey there! Maybe you could help me out... Is there an overnighter in Cuyahoga National Park you'd suggest? How are the Rangers there with hammocks? My experience is that NPS rangers are good with it as long as you are using straps.

There is no camping in cvnp other than a small campground with five sites in a field. No hammock opportunities sadly. I write and call them a lot to try to press the issue. Camping is needed!

I live in CVNP basically.... it's in my backyard. I probably hike there 100 days a year........ It's truly sad that I Can't backpack/camp there. I head to Findley / Mohican for the best hanging "nearby". We're sort of in a wasteland of camping here.
