    Atwood Micro Cord

Hey Dutch or other knowledgeable source,
What is the Atwood Micro cord made of? Is it a poly or nylon base? Looks like a good deal for some general purpose cordage, but I don't want anything that is gonna stretch. Thanks.

There is no specific information on the Atwood website to indicate what it is made from. I suggest that you contact Atwood and ask them for more specs on their micro cord. At 100# breaking strength, I wouldn't use it for anything more than tarp guy out lines.

    Cheers

    Polypropylene.

Well I thought so at least. I'm finding conflicting information. Some sites state polypropylene and that it floats while extremepara states polyester and that it does not fliat....

I've used it for guy outs for about a year- very little, if any stretch.

Yep.....I bought a roll in bright yellow and orange. It makes pretty great tarp lines. The texture and stiffness makes it hold knots well. It also grabs well against zing-it for prussick and klemheist knots.

Of course there are stronger cords out there but I figured 100lbs is plenty. I'd rather a cord snap than a tarp pullout rip loose. For me this kind of cord is a "fuse".
