Thankfully where I camp lately (Northern KY) has been low 60's at night way down in a valley. Had to use my topquilt everytime to keep warm after about 4am or so. Of course this week looks to be over 100 temps so I'm staying inside.

You went by my house then. I bet you hung your hammock at the picnic shelter at Shell Point. The Terminator and I go there to watch the sun set.I was roughly in your area last weekend
I am still 18 but with 52 years of experience !
Hung out here in Vermont last night. Got down to 54 and a slight breeze. Porch mode was perfect. At midnight about 4 owls decided to serenade me. The rest was perfection. My 20 degree quilts were perfect at about 0100.
Hopefully hanging tonight but looks to be hotter. We'll see. I also have a battery powered fan hanging from my ridge line. That helps a lot.
Take care,
Al
Lucky you. This is what it's like in norther Alabama at the moment.

I don't understand the question, you ask is it too hot to hang? what's the alternative - sleep indoors or use a different method outdoors?
I've always felt a hammock was cooler than sleeping on the ground, much more so in a tent. so yeah, if I'm outdoors, I'm hanging...
not a question...a statement. one can hang outside when its hot and humid but being comfortable while doing so is the issue

I'm surprised some engineer with too much time on their hands didn't make a liquid-cooled hammock yet. Actually, that would probably feel TOO cold on back and still warm on your top, so we better do a liquid-cooled TQ too!
This past weekend in the Florida woods it hit 99* in the shade. I had no means to check humidity but there were thunderclouds all around us, but no rain on us during day.
The breeze made it feel like lower 90's to upper 80's to me. Comfortable for me. The nights in the woods hit 74 first night and 69 second and I was very comfortable both nights. I love my hammock and it's ability to cool me with the breeze and make it comfortable to sleep in the Florida woods. No bugnet either night and needed my UQ the second night.
Enjoy and have fun with your family, before they have fun without you
