It's usually better to pack the hammock, or anything else for that matter, loosely in their stuff sacks. This eliminates trying to pack "balls" into your backpack. The "balls" leave air pockets where the loose stuffed hammocks allow everything to settle into the pack making it more comfortable to carry.

I don't have a picture for you to compare to, but my 10' DIY ripstop nylon hammock, 6' straps, 6' leads/Speed Hook suspension, Fronkey bugnet and DIY Redoleary pillow all reside in my hammock Black Bishop Bag. It's about the size of cantaloupe and can still squeeze down inside my pack.
