I live in an apt. So I keep them very tight to the window frame and shades rod in case maintenance comes in and freaks. The maintenance guy doesn't because he KNOWS that hole can be patched. But the non maintenance female manager might because she is not informed of structural window casings or door casings.
Easy to patch and paint when I move.
You could also paint them to the wall color so it blends.
But you got me up there with "Indoor stealth apparatus."

Maybe get some hanging plants and hang them from strategically placed eye bolts (or heart shaped bolts even better) when you're not using the hammock. Or those petyzl hangers look small enough you could cover them with framed pictures.
Hello I'm fairly new to the forum and I know this an older thread but I happen to be a blacksmith and I'm working on a design for a forged indoor hanger. The main issue is strength without using lag screws. Forging the metal softens it quite a bit and while I can heat treat the material mild steel which is what most forged work is made of does not harden so, you either have to over build it quite a bit or use more expensive material such as spring steel.
So far the best design I've come up with is somewhat of a coat rack with a hanger hook built in. It would span 3 studs with multiple screws in each.
