This is my indoor setup that i used hang calculator for to follow 100%. Does this look right to you guys? I'm really easy to convince so i'll try any suggestions. I just want to sleep in a hammock because i have some back problems from my bed and i like this one because my dog would rip my mayan up, it's warm, and i can hang it anywhere. Also they're pretty cheap and i can get any accessories locally or more if i end up liking it! Just want to get the most i can out of it without messing my back up more... Thanks

P.S. The second to last pic is upside down

My first hammock was an ENO DN and I slept fine in it at 5'11", but I later made a 10'6" hammock that is much more comfortable and gave the DN to my daughter. I made an 11' for my brother that was *really* comfortable, so my next hammock will also be 11'.
What kind of hammock did you make? I'm interested

My wife and I have ENO DNs and love them, we have used them overnight once and I slept great (5'11" 245 lbs). Even so, most here will advise you to get a longer hammock for comfort's sake.

That said it's hard to give you advice without seeing what you're doing. Getting with an experienced hanger to watch you hang would be a great help. Failing that, get someone to take pictures of you in your hammock and post them here, and maybe someone can see what's going on.

    Happy hanging!
What do you think of my setup, from my pictures above? Thanks

Only one picture showed up. The rest are dead links.

FIXED! Thanks for understanding... Well from the setup above last night i changed it a little, i read some clarification on the length of the hammock being with the caribiner and rope loop to be 118" instead of 112" which is what i heard previously. I entered it in the calculator and i came out to 18" of suspension instead of 21". So using the atlas straps i got as close as possible i think 17" on 3rd loop and i still woke up with some neck and shoulder/upper back pain using a pillow for neck and knee support... But i DID sleep like a baby. Maybe it's anout getting used to it now? still would like some suggestions on my setup and how i could make it more comfy... Thanks!

I've made three now, always using Xtrekker's video as a guide:

It looks OK. You may need to try different things to dial in the comfort. 1st - try not using a pillow under your head or use something much thinner...see if that reduces or eliminates your neck/upper shoulder pain. Keep the pillow under the knees for comfort.

I have an indoor set-up and have slept in mine (11 ft. Dutch) every night for the past 4 months. It does take a bit of an adjustment to get things just right for you. Like Slugger suggested, I found a very thin pillow under my neck works best for me vs. a normal size pillow. I use an inflatable one filled only about an inch to just fill in the gap behind my neck. I do the same for my knees with just enough to fill the space but not really elevate them. I also have my foot end about 12" higher than the head and it works perfect to get a flat lay for me. I'm sure you'll find the right combo for you. Good luck!
