I have a winter vented sock, didn't even know there is a summer version....
I could try tomorrow, but I don't see how in my head right now. There's nothing there to pull the bottom up, it's meant to hang loose.
If you're trying to fake a double layer, use a second hammock. A diy or something cheap works fine since you're not really putting weight on it (unlike a true DL). I did my first year this way with a 5' diy hammock and some fancy cut reflictix.
