Speed and ease of use. My 9 year old daughter can set up her own hammock now using Dutch Clips and cinch buckles without asking for help. I still havent gotten them for myself, but thats changing soon...they are just too convenient not to.

The order I have coming should do me just fine for my pack setup. I will just move my atlas straps to the car camping kit. Thanks everyone for the help!

In addition to what you've already discovered, adutchables have the added bonus of allowing you to take out excess slack out of a strap. i.e. adjust to the size of the tree vs making multiple wraps around it. This is a HUGE plus for those of us short-of-leg. But wait, there's more... another advantage of that adjustability is that you can shorten/lengthen the business end of the strap. This is great if you've lark's headed to the sewn on loop or if already made up an MSH, Beckett, etc and need to make a minor adjustment but don't want to undo your hitch...do this with your adutchable! I find this of value when getting the head end of two hammocks to jive for spreader bar use (if I'm not using ti-cinch buckles or spiders).
Hmmm...trying to visualize what the adutchables are. I'm not using tree huggers per se...I'm using 15 foot webbing with a spider and a sewn in Dutch Clip on one end. With this set up, there would never be any reason for me to have to make multiple wraps around a tree. I just slide the spider further up the web if using a smaller diameter tree. But, it sounds like the adutchables would have been awesome to have back when I was using tree huggers with whoopie slings.

Think of an Adutchable as a waist belt clip except instead of a male half clipping to a female half, it's the typical Dutch Clip that hooks around the strap. The opposite end of the clip has tri-glide slots where you would make adjustments.

With a spider or cinch buckle type of arrangement, Adutchables aren't necessary. However, try as I might I'm still not feeling the love for spiders and sometimes find it less frustrating to make minor adjustments at the adutchable rather than fight with the spider. It's not that big of a deal of course. Comparatively (to spiders), I find ti-cinch buckles to be, well, a cinch. I'll post a photo of an Adutchable later, if I remember.

    EDIT:

Dutch must have taken his vid down, but I found this one. Not a native English speaker, but he tries.

That's how I feel.. and I didn't want the extra bulk (not weight.. that's not an issue) of more hardware.

I'm okay being a little pathetic.

Having said that, they are last piece of D-Bling I am resisting and it futile.. at some point I am going to cave in and order them..
Yes, my pack weighs 70lbs, but it's all light weight gear....

"I can "throw" the strap up around behind the tree"
Yes - we need a Dutch-o-rang. Throw it and it loops around tree and returns to your hand.

My 9 year old daughter can set up her own hammock
I just had a gift card to a box store and purchased Atlas straps. These seem huge! I purchased simply for simplicity for my daughter. Will return and invest in Dutch bling. I was already thinking of doing that before reading this because Dutch just repaired my hammy very nicely.

OK!Looks like I have a set of "collectibles" now in my Adutchable clips. Also explains why I could not find them on the web site last night.I got them originally because I felt they would be harder to accidentally lose.Hate the thot of having to use the loops!Yeah,I'm lazy!

Just about all my hammocks have Dutch Clips from the old style aluminum to the Ti version. I like the aluminum version better.

ADutchable Clips are the best. As said for the clips, you can larkshead suspension directly to strap without removing suspension from hammock since you're not going thru the strap loop. And you can adjust the strap itself directly on the tree. Love it.
Enjoy and have fun with your family, before they have fun without you
