We got rained on this weekend.Worst part is drying everything out so it won't mold up when I repack the pack.I have gotten a new appreciation for camping and hiking in rain but changing clothes under a tarp is a real pain for me but I can't say a tent would do any better.
Hmmm... worst part is scouting out a camp after a long day of miles, getting set up and then, while exploring your new home, finding an even better site just a bit farther down the trail...

Yes, my pack weighs 70lbs, but it's all light weight gear....

Slugs. In the White mountains during the summer season, small slugs get into and on anything on the ground. Boots, water bottle, anything. And so get mashed if not seen. They leave their slimy trails too. Yuck.
Since I retired, some times I stay awake all day, some times all night.
The worst part of hammock camping for me is Sasquatch’es,they are down right ornery boogers. At night they love to play hammock twirling,( a version of cow tipping ),they wait until I’m asleep, then two of them will grab each end of my hammock and spin it like a jump rope before running off laughing.
I’ve also caught them peeing on my campfire and pooping in my boots.I set up my trail cams, but all my pictures come out blurry, and fuzzy.................In spite of dealing with Sasquatch,I love hammock camping!
