Anybody prefer cheaper hammocks here??

I have just DIY'd a 11 footer from 1.0 Robic XL and it is now my go too bed hands down. I am sold on simple wide and long gathered ends. The Henessy DJ XL is gathering dust and the WB Traveler will be perfect for the GF if she can just get with the program

Essentially no reason not to give simple a try ...pick your material/size, buy or build and go hang

I picked up the double without mosquito netting to hang on the patio. at $39.80 it really is a good deal. Only $4 more than the single. While it isn't a top notch hammock it serves my purpose better than expected. I's purchase it again in a heartbeat. My wife seems to love it too... sleep in hammock.jpg

Woot is the site I think you are referring to and Yukon outfitters is the brand. Decent quality gear at a reasonable price. Great introduction level hammocks, tarps, and quilts.

I use a Chillax Double Hammock from Costco. I sleep in it every night like a baby. I have a few sill nylons but I prefer the cheaper Chillax. Best $25.00 I ever spent!!

I just checked the Woot site, and it's saying every single type of Yukon hammock they offer is sold out. You might try Amazon?

Cheaper or inexpensive, that's me.

I exclusively use a very inexpensive hammy at $6 before my suspension. Less than $15 before upgrades with Dutch bling.

Ripstop nylon fabric from Walmart at $1.50/yrd and cargo straps for several years. Still my camping hammock for over 5 years, but with suspension upgrades. Now that's cheap.

Thanks on Woot. I have a couple Clarks and tickets but if they do that sale again I may pick up a pair just to keep in the kayaks. I figure if something happens then I won't be out much but waterside lounging usually means bugs. Big bugs, little bugs, munching bugs, Dutch bugs, etc.
