    RBTR 3/4 UQ

Finished a few items with my Father's Day purchase from RBTR. Thanks Kyle!

    Kids hammocks

Only have the pic of one. The other is red. Had to make stuff sacks of course.

    And the UQ

Am really happy with it. I used the 3.6 Climashield.

I'm just learning this hammock hanging, but plan on hammock camping with the wife.

looks like you did very good. One ?, it looks like you sewed through the UQ- correct? I didn't think that was necessary with climashield. Turtle dog stand leg?

I did sew through the Climashield. At the risk of air seepage, I did it to keep the insulation in place. I did a single stitch square 9" from edge.

And yes, not enough trees in the yard, turtle dog stand was in order.

    Thanks for looking.

Typically, you don't need to sew through the climashield to hold it in place. The perimeter hem is enough to hold it together. The exception would be if using multiple layers of climashield. In that case, I'd use quilting loops to hold the layers together.

    Still, it's a beautiful quilt!

Good looking under quilt! That Climashield is some good stuff. I have recently made 3 UQ's out of that material. To help with keeping the insulation in place (I really doubt it would move though but better to be safe then sorry) and to reduce the air seepage, I only sewed it to the side of the under quilt that is touching the hammock instead of all the way through(if that makes sense). I have used my lighter weight one several times now and haven't had any issues with it. Im usually rougher on gear that I DIY so i can find flaws in it but have yet to have any issues with it slipping. You'll love your UQ! I know i do. I also like the hanger that you sewed into the stuff sack. I may be making my next ones like that, never though about it. But they look great. Did you just lay the cord between the fabric and then sew it up?

    Thanks for the compliments.

tbates92, yes, I use paracord and just sew a loop into the seam. I got the idea from DIY Gear Supplies stuff sack guide. It uses gross grain on the bottom. I like the color options I get from the paracord.
