Planning an AT hike: Three Forks to Neels Gap- Anyone know any good shuttles?

My wife and I want to hike a three day NOBO from Three Forks to Neels Gap within the next couple of weeks.

Our plan is to park near Neels Gap at the Byron Reece trailhead/parking area and shuttle from there to Three Forks.

Does anyone know of reputable shuttle drivers that I can use?

I know there are some listed on the GA ATC site but I like a more personal recommendation if I can get it. Thanks!

Thanks BC. He seems to be popular over at White Blaze too. I have an email in to him.

    John.

You need to try the Georgia Loop sometime which is 65 miles if you park at Byron Reese and hike over Blood mountain to the start of the Duncan Ridge trail. It includes Long Creek Falls, the Toccoa River swinging bridge and the Duncan Ridge Trail, supposedly the toughest trail east of the Mississippi River.

I hiked it counterclockwise starting on Duncan Ridge heading west then onto the Benton McKaye Trail heading south to Long Creek Falls and finally north on the AT back to and over Blood Mountain a second time descending into the parking area.

I did it in April and it was challenging but a blast.

BTW I really enjoy your trail videos. I wish my wife was interested in hiking.

    Hey Carl,

YES! In fact I remember your posts about it. I have wanted to do that loop every since I learned about it from you. One day!

However I'm thinking about starting on the western end, that way I can have a mid(ish) hike resupply at Mountain Crossings and won't have to carry so much food.

Thanks, and thanks for the comments about our videos

Your wife might like our blog, there's a link to it in my signature. It's from both my and my wife's point of view, so she might find some common ground there. Hope it helps!

I cached food and adult beverages at the highway 60 crossing (day 3) and Woody Gap (day 6) the week before my hike which cut my pack weight tremendously. One of the advantages of living in Atlanta.

Just a thought. Also, I highly recommend Sally and Joyce for shuttling. Very reliable.

Nice blog too. I'll try to get my wife to read it.
