No sign of a gas shortage as I drove from northwestern-North Carolina (West Jefferson area) to the Outer Banks. Of course, I only stopped once for gas near Winston Salem, where one woman was complaining about a $0.10 per gallon price increase. The supply of gas seemed fine.

Of course, things can change overnight ... especially if covert political conspiracies lie under every rock. :-)

I am increasing the amount of snacks we will be bringing.

Have no problem getting all grades of gas in my area, however, seems like the smaller gas stations are rationing.
    Straight out of Clayton.

Most physical hike: Grandfather Mountain, NC. Aug 13.

I don't need to make my pack lighter. I need to make my (_*_) lighter.

Does anyone live in the area near the hang? Wondering how bad the mosquitos are.

Mosquitoes have not been a problem in the past but rain has been the problem in the past although it appears there will be a nice weekend.

Many of the gas stations down here are out of gas.

I don't recall ever seeing a mosquito up there.

Yesterday (Tue) I read that the new pipeline bypassing the broken section was complete & being tested.
They said things should be getting back to normal by end of week.

My computer talks to me every day. And I talk back

At times people have been able to make a call from the group site or the store.
I think text may work better,
If not, you can drive up to the Visitor Center & increase your chances.
