Unless it's raining I always do hammock first because I'm old and lazy and I prefer to unpack while sitting in my hammock/campchair

In Colorado we don't get a lot of rain so the tarp is optional but 2nd to go up the I'll hang my quilts to uncompress.
After a cup of coffee and a long sit I'll go collect firewood and do any camp chores that might need doing.

    Depends on the weather

    Wet weather

    Tarp
    Straps
    Hammock w/integrated bug net
    quilts

    not wet
    Straps
    Hammock
    quilts
    Tarp

I prefer to do tarp last so I can center it over the hammock with no adjustments. I do quilts before tarp because it's easier for me to move around w/o the tarp in place as I sit my tarp pretty low for more privacy.

Hammock - no particular side first
Tarp - left in skins until needed
    UQ
TQ (currently SB) - tucked in UQ until needed
Bugnet - sits in bishop bag on hammock suspension until needed

And yes, if it's raining the tarp goes up first.

Tarp- kept in the skins unless raining. Eyeballing the distance between trees is not always reliable for me. Setting my tarp first confirms the trees are appropriately spaced.

    1. T: Tarp ridgeline with prusiks already in place to gauge spacing followed by clipping on tarp in snakeskin (Deploy if raining)
    2. H: Hammock (Bishopbag one end to the other)
    3. I: Insulation/Quilts (Come out only when I can assure that they'll stay dry and protected) then Underquilt Protector
    4. S: Scotch to celebrate another upcoming night in the woods

Bit in fair weather, when I'm feeling mischievous, I might be inclined to:

    1. S: Scotch to celebrate another upcoming night in the woods
    2. H: Hammock (Bishopbag one end to the other)
    3. I: Insulation/Quilts (Come out only when I can assure that they'll stay dry and protected) then Underquilt Protector
    4. T: Tarp ridgeline with prusiks already in place to gauge spacing followed by clipping on tarp in snakeskin

And I usually hang my tarp up first, but leave it wrapped in snakeskins until after the hammock has been hung and adjusted.
I do the same exact thing with my Ridge runner------ spindrift, hammock and underquilt get stuffed into my pack as one unit. So fast and easy!
FYI: If you want to know what type a certain bear is, sneak up behind it and kick it. Then,
run like crazy and climb up a tree. If the bear climbs the tree and eats you, it's a black
bear. If the bear just pushes the tree over and eats you, it's a grizzly bear : )

Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead. Do not walk ahead of me, for I may not follow. Do not walk beside me, either, just leave me alone.

S - SITE selection is critical. Halfway up a slope, under healthy trees with no widowmakers, no ticks, no animal smells.
C - CATHOLES. I pre-dig two, one for over-the-side night peeing and one for a sheltered morning poop just before we de-camp.
R - REEL it all out. (suspension, netting, winter sock, hammock, quilts, accessories are a single piece inside a Lazy Slug Tube)
U - UNDERNEATH. That's where the tarp connection goes, just Underneath the tree huggers.
N - NIGHTSTAND. The 1-lb Stansport stool is a fine luggage rack, gun rack, priceless trail chair. Perfect place for a heavy water bottle (and the ridgeline is not).
C - CRAP. Load all the small stuff for overnight into a couple of those REI Schwag Pockets that hang from my ridgeline. Phone, headlamp, map, etc.
H - HANG. Secure all items against animal banditry! Hang backpack & shoes from loops.

and as soon as that has been done (4 minutes? 3?) i can SCRUNCH down under that cozy quilt and start sawing logs.
