We make them with 32 feet of line, minus the couple inches of splicing.

Been using this set up for my CRL for about a year. Started with a 30ft piece of line. Only came into 2 times where I wish I had a couple more feet. I like being able to set the tarp up and easily slide it back and forth to center without having to undo any knots or hardware.
i have about 35 feet
Yes, my pack weighs 70lbs, but it's all light weight gear....

I have a 30' piece and an additional 8' piece with fixed loops so that in the event I need an extension I can larkshead it on. If I don't need it for my CRL I have it for any other task requiring a length of cordage.
I've got one of Dutch's continuous ridgelines and his site says they start with 30' of line. Same as mbal1856...only had a few times where I wished for a few more feet.
I like that idea of bringing along some extra..maybe I should make a nice 8' dogbone this weekend for a little project. Have to see how much extra line I have kicking around
Between every two pines is a doorway to a new world.
I have the last six or eight feet coiled in a fig-8 and haven't untied it in ages. I know the moment I trim the CRL shorter, I be looking for it on my next hang.
Maybe I should trim it and dog bone it.

I have about 37'. Dog boning at least the last 7' sounds like a good idea.
