    Anybody decorate their hammock fabric?

I recently got a Warbonnet Blackbird 1.1 DL which is only available in Olive Brown and I plan to upgrade to a XLC 1.1 DL which is the same color, seems that they make all their hammocks from a brown 1.1 material or green 1.7 material. I'm sold on the footbox, shelf, and level of comfort from Warbonnet's but they do leave something to be desired in the aesthetics department.

Has anyone drawn designs, tye-dyed, painted, stained their hammock so the fabric is a unique design? Would using a sharpie degrade the material in any way? Or bleed through and mark up your pad/skin/sheets? Since I'm rocking the double layer I think it'd be OK to draw on the outer layer and put something in between so it doesn't bleed/leak onto the inner layer during the drawing. It'd be dope to pass time on the trail drawing on it, having new friends sign it, etc.

Ive wondered the same thing about sharpies and my dutchware hexon hammock. When / if I meet some of the greats from the hammock world (Shug I'm looking at you), it would be cool to get them to sign my hammock. I like your idea of having friends on there too.

I love the idea of having new trail friends sign it. Using a Sharpie will bleed through not only to 2nd layers, but will travel (spread out) along the weave until its dry. Use a fine-tip sharpie for signatures and have them sign large. Another thing to be aware of is if you use other marker types you may get ink "travel" over time where you'll notice a stain-ring around your subject matter.

You guys are brilliant! I have met so many wonderful people on the trail and it would really be cool to have different trail names and such on there.

Not ready to do anything like that on my hammock or tarp but it would be pretty cool to have like a hammock forums bandana or something similar for people to sign. hang it like a flag off my ridgeline...

Warbonnet hammocks have a great resale value. Scribble all over Warbonnet hammocks with a Sharpie? Not much resale value would be left.

I would have to agree with SS, besides if you are trying to keep a record of the new hangers you meet why not take a picture??
You could even get a polaoid instant camara and have them sign the back, but writing all over my gear? Not a chance!!!

I have a Shug Stamp I put on hammocks when no one is looking.
It has taught me to run faster.

Not my hammock, but I have decorated my tarp with a Walking Dead theme.
