so, from the pictures and videos i see, it looks like you need to thread each suspension line thru the holes on the corners on the bugnet, then attach all to tree, is this correct?

Yes although there are variations where it is half fronkey and half sock. You still have to have it installed before hanging though.

the fronkey worked perfectly last night, with the skeeters we have here in iowa. my wbxlc is up for sale. used 6 times, will be good for someone.

What stops the bugs from flying under these? My family just had a two day camp out and the second night was mosquito hell, can't let that happen again. Looking at fronkey from Dutch as a solution, but not sure about the open bottom.

The opening has shock cord closure and it snugs up under the hammock or UQ. It basically seals itself on the bottom.

If you're really worried about the hole in the bottom, put a sock, bandana, or any cloth in the hole and cinch it down. The cloth kind of seals against the shock cord and bugs won't be able to navigate through the cloth.

I just made a Fronkey bug net and it works great. When in the hammock it seals around the edges of the hammock. To make sealing a bit better I placed 2 cord locks 180 degrees apart. This way I can pull both in and it closes all the way...

I also made the Fronkey style bugnet. I added the shock cord at the bottom but never close it. As bobamos said, when in the hammock, the net will "seal" around where it rests against the hammock. There are other designs that have pockets sewn in the corner of the net that allow you to weight the net down with rocks or what have you....and they aren't sewn on the ends as I recall. The folks using them like 'em. I modified my Fronkey by sewing one end fully and the other end partially. The partial end I added velcro so I can seal it up. Having the mod, I can open the end and slide the net over and out of the way. fronky_mod.jpg I also treat mine with permetherin.
If I were to do it again, I would take a foot off the bottom and eliminate the shock cord.
