    Overseamer use?

I'm new to the DIY hammock world, but I have access to an industrial overseamer and was wondering if it would serve any purpose in DIYing any hammock or hammock accessory projects.

If its like a miulti thread like 4 reels machine or serger then not much, as it just pokes too many holes in the fabric, a lot of the light weigh fabrics fray badly to better to double roll the hem and encase the edge.

I know this thread hasn't had much action in a few months, but I just got a free machine. It's a Singer Ultralock 14u34. It's an overedger kind of machine. Has the 4 spools and sews a seam like a fleece jacket or t shirt has, kinda of a loop look. I know it won't be able to hold much weight, but would it do good enough for stuff sacks, or maybe even the seams around the edge of a hammock with a whipped end where the channel or stitching wouldn't be holding the weight?

Sew some scraps and do some testing (tug of war type).
