VIDEO: Appalachian Trail-Benton McKaye loop. Springer to Three Forks, overnight with my wife

We parked at the Springer trailhead on FS 42 and hiked up Springer to the southern terminus of both trails. Then we hiked on the BMT and AT alternately down to Three Forks, around 8.5 miles total. Set up camp at Three Forks and had dinner and camped overnight.

We continued on to Long Creek Falls the next morning, and then hiked back to the Springer trailhead, about 5ish miles. On the way back we took the sections of the trails we skipped the previous day.

It was hot, humid and BUGGY! However it was beautiful and a great trip!

I'm at work and can't watch vids at the moment, but boy am I looking forward to seeing this one because I've been thinking along those same lines for a future trip. I appreciate you putting up the video.
    Cheers.

Thanks for sharing. Looks like the dogs were huffing an puffing. Do you have a map of the trip and especially that trail head. Google Maps is lacking in this area.

I have downloaded the GPX file from my Garmin Basecamp and made a Google map of our track HERE.

Once you open the link zoom in to the little green icon where we started day 1, and you'll see the AT parking lot. You can actually use that to navigate there if needed. Good luck!

I can email you the file if you like (this is an open invitation). I believe that we should share these resources as much as possible. If anyone wants the GPX file just PM me your email address.

Hopefully you can get out here before too long to hike some of it!

Thanks JmBoh, glad you enjoyed the video.

There's a link in my signature about the double hammock whoopie hooks and spreader bar. My wife and I really like hanging together that way. Highly recommend!
