any advice on setting our tarps up in 25-30 mph wind would be appreciated. The forecast is for gusts to exceed 25mph

"Climb the mountains and get their good tidings.
Nature's peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees.
The winds will blow their own freshness into you, and the storms their energy,
while cares will drop away from you like the leaves of Autumn." — John Muir
Well, end of my third night in the hammock. Warmth was no problem, even with high winds and rain. Problem is, that no matter how I laid, I had incredible pain in my ribs on my left side. I had others lay in my hammock and they thought I had it hung well but I could not get rid of the pain. On the last night as morning was approaching, I slid my feet the whole way to the bottom on the hammock with my shoulders closer to the widest part and got relief there. Must work on this to see if I can figure out the problem.
I'm glad that warmth was not a problem but I hate that you had such discomfort. There is definitely a curve to learning how you sleep best in a hammock. I am not familiar with the type of hammock that you have but I do know that in mine. If I get off of the diagonal, I get uncomfortable. Don't give up! If you can set up in the yard or somewhere and play with it for a while, I'm sure you will figure out what works for you. Perhaps some members who have owned multiple hammocks will chime in.
Good luck!
