It looks like you have found a great spot! I agree that an 11' hammock will be a HUGE upgrade for you. The comfort difference will amaze you. I also recommend some better suspension. I personally just carry Dutch cinch bugs on 15' tree straps. It may be a bit bulkier than whoopie slings (which I have used for years), but i find it easier to adjust. There is almost no fuss.
An underquilt can by pricey, but it will keep you nice an toasty. I find that carrying my top quilt and underquilt is no heavier than a sleeping bag and works much better in a hammock.
Once you get those things sorted, then you can start thinking about a bug net and tarp. One thing is for sure, you have come to the right place!
