    Gear Hammock and Lash-It suspension

I am working on a gear hammock that will have a 5' fixed structural ridgeline. I have some Lash-It to spare.
The GearMock won't have to carry more than 25-30 lbs weight.
Is there any reason that I can't just run the line [continuous] through the end channels with a hitch-loop at each end [instead of CLs] and just let the ends run out as the actual suspension to tree straps?
I plan on running a small tarp over it to prussics on the end suspension lines.

My alternative is a dog-boned fixed ridge looped to CLs in each channel, with Loop-Aliens on each CL... but that seems "fiddly" compared to a continuous-line suspension...

I have a gear hammock with lash-it UCRs for the suspension and no ridgeline. I connect it to hammock suspension with mini s-biners and adjust to hang beside or under my hammock. Is there a specific reason you're wanting to use a ridgeline?

GF- yeah. This is to be an independent gear hanger. I wanted to give it a fixed length to use a ridge org for "smalls", and to give some support for the tarp if it comes down a toadfloater.
I have loads of room in my AMOK for necessaries , so I don't need an along-side reach-in... this is to get my loose gear up off the forest duff or outta the white stuff.
It's coming in at about 5oz. Figuring about 3oz more for a 6'x4' silpoly mini tarp.

"toadfloater" is excellent! I'm glad I wasn't drinking something when I read this post!

Your single line suspension/ridgeline should work with the small load it is expected to carry as long as the hitch loop prevents the gearmock from sliding along the line.

I'm interested in seeing your progress.
