I always tighten the knotty mod on the side of the hammock my head is on to draw up the loose fabric.

BTW, you did a great job. I really liked the integrated center knot for the ridge line. God Bless

Thank you very much WV. I think until it gets good and broken in the grosgrain will help keep it from bunching too tight and the bulk of it alone will help with that too. It's a compromise on the mini spreader bar, to the extent that the bar itself is a PITA and having no squeezing force on the gathered end from either a whoopie or even the structural RL seems to help.... if only in my head.

Thanks WV Mountaineer. I'm still experimenting on how little I can tension it and still keep the floppiness at bay.
    Good luck,

Came out real nice Red! Like the split ends for the ridgeline. Nice new take on things! Looks mighty comfy!

Thank you. The split ends are a bit more work, but I believe worth it.

    Nice looking hammock!
The audio didn't come through for me, so I missed all the explanation. The split ends look really nice and elegant. FYI years ago in a swift water rescue class I was taught to never attach one rope to another directly. They can rub on each other and one can cut through the other. The instructor said to put some hardware like a carabiner between them. Laying in a hammock is kinda different from the power and quick-changing nature of a raging river though, so this might not apply :-)
    Thanks for posting!

Thanks WebbingSlinger, there's not much/any relative movement on the rope to rope connections giving me hope that it should be ok.... time will tell. Thanks for the heads up.

I've gone to find myself. If I get back before I return, make sure I stay here.

When I see lovers' names carved into a tree, I don't think it's cute. I think it's strange how so many people take knives on a date.
