I use a CRL with bling on both ends. I may set up my hammock in the yard before dark. If I do I'll bang out a quick video.

I've been using a continuous ridgeline with Dutch hook on one end, wasp or Flyz on the other end, and soft shackle prusiks attaching the tarp to the ridgeline.

I use a continuous Ridgeline with a soft shackle prussic on one end. It's easy and it works and I avoid becoming addicted to Dutchware (the main positive)

Ridgelines are used for hammocks as well as tarps.
For tarps, you have 2 types.
1)CRL (continuous ridgeline) that goes from tree to tree. Most use some sort of hardware to attach on one side to itself and tighten on the other side. The tarp is connected to this CRL either on top or under the CRL. It makes the adjustment easy by shifting the tarp.
2)Separate Guy lines. The lines come off the tarp ridge guy outs to the trees.
For hammocks, you have either no RL, RL made with shock cord or SRL.
1)Shock cord is mainly used to keep bug nets off of your face.
2)SRL(structural ridgeline). This is used to keep the sag of the hammock consistent even when the suspension to the trees is less than ideal 30* hang angle. It's also a great place to hang items like your headlamp, mini fans, glasses or organizers.
These come in fixed length RL or adjustable RL by use of WhoopieSling or constrictor rope construction.
Most RL, SRL for tarp or hammocks are made of Zing-it(yellow), Lash-it(grey), dynaglide or Amsteel.
Enjoy and have fun with your family, before they have fun without you
