Comes down to choice and personal preference.

I never get around to making pretty toggles. I just use sticks off the ground like a peasant haha!

And not lighter... if you use a single line of 7/64ths instead of a doubled whoopie (1.3g per foot vs 2.2g/foot).

A crew is laying cable in our subdivision & I scored their used mule tape that comes pre packaged in the conduit.

My new super light Emergency Hanging Setup is now a traveler hammock with 12' of mule tape beckett hitched to each CL. I tied a loop on the tree end of the tape to use like a Dutch clip.

We are Headed out for BSA camp in the morning & I will carry this everyday, just in case.

    Hey, wait a minute....
Am I starting to sound like Sgt Rock?

You mean like an Amsteel dog bone? Wouldn't that just defeat all adjustability?

4' tree hugger with a 6' dogbone on one end, attaches to a loop alien on the CL on my hammock (that's the adjustability).

If you work it out (I did cause I'm bored at work) and include 2 aluminum loop aliens then the Kevlar is still lightly less than 8grams heavier. (Probably less because I only figured in 6"extra per dog bone for buries and you'd want way more than that to hang from). So it's basically same same

So... while we're talking Kevlar straps and lightweight, would you put the strap through the loop and hang your hammock from an Amstel loop over a toggle?

I would just loop the Kevlar strap around the tree then use a Marlin spike hitch to hang from the continuous loops that my hammocks are cinched with.

So yes that's a totally viable option
