I have a similar setup with an Integral designs poncho and it works great to keep any wind blown rain off the hammock when using a smaller asym tarp

Diy'd one myself, use it as my dog days of summer UQ. Also my go to in winter to help retain more heat. Oh yeah, works quite nicely as a poncho in rainy weather
