Is the mesh snake skin from Mountain Goat lighter than the Cuben snake skin from Hammock Gear? Is it easier to put on and off?
I believe the material used on the Mountain Goats is slightly heavier. It think it is .67 ounces per sq yard vs HG's .51 Cuben fiber. That is a very small difference and I don't know about the actual sizes and finished weight. The big difference it one is waterproof and the other is not. Each application has it's positive and negatives.

I own both sets of skins, cuben for my HG asym tarp, and the Mountain Goat for my HG Hex with doors. As Dutch said the MG is slightly heavier than HG. As far as putting the sleeves off and on, they both are easy. I would say I prefer the MG in the fact that there is two separate sleeves that meet in the middle instead of the HG, which is one piece and goes from one end to the other. Both are great choices, and you really can't go wrong with either.

Thanks for the info! I going to buy the Cuben.
I just got a mesh set in the mail. Now I'm just waiting for my UGQ tarp from the recent drop.
Kat is the Bomb! Fast service, everything fits, quality is top notch. I will order again, you can't go wrong and you are helping a person not a big box!
I have slept in a hammock on every continent from -20 to +128, under direct and indirect fire, from frost to fungus except Antarticia.... But give me time... Thank you Uncle Sugar!
I ordered a set of these based on the positive reviews here. I am very happy and agree they were an excellent choice!

Can anyone speak of the durability? Pretty tough material? Thanks
I have a pair from Kat and love them! Durability??? Not sure, it's no-see-um so not the strongest stuff out there but no problems with mine. Your mileage may differ.
