Repurposing As Seen On TV hose...

So we have one of those AsSeenOnTV garden hoses that expands with water pressure. It never really worked right at our house for some reason. Maybe too little water pressure. Anyways, my wife took it to a Girl Scout car wash and it got a hole in it right near the nozzle. So being the environmentally sound Christian guy that I am, I wanted to recycle what I could. So I cut off the metal and realized the inside is a sort of industrial surgical tubing and once I tied that to our railing outside, I was able to slide the very durable fabric sheathing off of it. So now I am left with about 75' of very tough fabric tubing and maybe half that of heavy duty surgical tubing. I'm thinking this stuff might have to go in the DIY category for some hammock accessory builds!!! The surgical tubing could tension a tarp or a hammock, the fabric tubing could be used for something. Any thoughts?

The webbing tubing might work for tree straps actually. Sewn loops with durable thread.

A really long gravity feed filter? +1 on the slingshot.
Crayons - they might look different, but they all taste the same

I think the very little extra money for proper webbing and the peace of mind of not hitting the ground negates any idea of hanging from the hose. The hose is made to be abrasion resistant. Maybe there is an idea there somewhere. A sheath around your webbing so it doesn't contact the tree maybe.
I would rather be in the woods... my dog would rather be in the pool. My wife thinks we are both nuts.

+1 I would't hang on it first if you do try it. That is one of thoose things you give to your best friend to laugh at them when they fall.

Don't listen to us. You may die.

Hang your hammock from it in the back yard. Load your hammock with stuff that isn't you or your family or any other living thing, or breakables that you value. Load it with that stuff until it weighs slightly more than you do.

    Then test.

Bounce it a little. Replicate getting in and out of the hammock by giving it some downward forces. Swing it a little.

Leave it up overnight. Does it stretch? Any visible deformation or distress?

If it passes all that just hang it far enough up that you can then use it for a test spin using yourself as the weight. Maybe put a few cushions under you.

You may die. Horribly. Don't listen to me or any other person in this forum.

Now I'm thinking the surgical tubing will make good shock cords for DIY tarps and such...
