    Underquilt Hooks?

Do underquilt hooks work for all underquilts of varying length? I have a 3/4 KAQ Jarbridge.

The UQ hooks on our 10ft hammocks are spaced approx 88" apart. On the 11ft length, they are approx 100" apart. They should work pretty well for almost any full length underquilt. The KAQ Jarbidge being 58" long should pose no issues at all.

I just slept in my 11' Sparrow last night with the 3/4 Jarbidge UQ from KAQ. The hooks work like a charm.

When I am in my hammock, I find that I only use the head-end, shoulder-side hooks and the foot-end, foot-side hooks; It just works better for me. Don't know why, just does.

Hi lindrome. Curious how you attached the quilt to the hammock. Would you mind posting a pic? I've looked at a couple different options for attaching my full length Hammock Gear quilts to my Sparrow and for some reason, I'm just not getting it (NOTE: this is totally user error, not the fault of Papa Smurf or any of the Smurfs!!!).

    Thanks!

I actually don't have a good picture of mine, but Paul from Arrowhead (maker of the Jarbidge) has a really good video showing and explaining it's suspension:

Hi lindrome. Sorry for the confusion. I was hoping to get an idea of how to use the underquilt hooks on the Sparrow for connecting to the underquilt to the hammock body.

    Thanks!

It isn't connected to the hammock body really. The quilt hooks are about 10" or so from the gathered end. I just pop the suspension cords in them on both sides at each end (4 total) this keeps it tight up to the hammock once you pull the suspension taut. I've done a small DIY hack on mine. At the left shoulder I sewed a 10-12" length of shock cord to the UQ outside seam. It is racked to the quilt every 1-1.5" (completely rye balled , not measured). I hook this to the pull out pack hook that is at my left shoulder to keep the quilt from shifting out from under me. The mini carabiniers are just hanging on the CL that is coming out of the gathered end. I'll get a picture this weekend when I'll be teaching my son how to hang a hammock.

whole thing, as well as my strand of shock cord though the shoulder pack hook to keep it on my left shoulder

Used my son to show what it looks like with someone in the hammock.

Thank you lindrome! That's very, very helpful.

I'm such a chowderhead. I was thinking I had to create a length of elastic to connect the hook on the hammock body and then attach that elastic to the UQ loop.
