    New from Virginia

Ok, been looking at Hammock's for awhile now. Friends I backpack on a regular basis with have made the switch and sitting under their tarps in porch mode during a rain storm this past weekend and testing their hammocks is swinging me around. I am now looking to make the switch myself. Looking here to learn as much as I can before making the plunge. Looking at the Warbonnet BB and the Superfly tarp. Will probably get an underquilt to start and use my current fleet of sleeping bags in quilt mode until I figure out what topquilt I want.

Welcome to another convert. Let us know if you have any questions. That Warbonnet hammock is a good one and sleeping bags should work for you in the warmer weather. The weight difference between a sleeping bad and a top quilt is amazing. My Loco Libre top quilts are so light I just knew they wouldn't work. They work great! I envy the fact that you are right there on "The trail".

Welcome from the Dallas area. I made the switch to hammocks and havent looked back. I used a pad for a year before i got my under quilt. I got my under quilt from Hammock Gear and love it. No more waking up in the middle of the night to readjust the sleeping pad. Right now I have a Hennessy Evador and it has been a really good hammock over the past years, I am like you know looking at a Warbonnet BB but I want to go with the XLC. I do have the Superfly trap and could not have made a better choice. It has saved me many of times with its coverage and being able to close of the ends. It is a really great choice.
I am sure you will find all the information you could ever need and then some here.

Welcome from Nashville, Tennessee. Good to experiment with gear, decide what seems to work for you, and adapt, borrow, purchase along the way. No need to do it all at once and especially before trial-and-error. Seems you're on the right path!
