    Fat guy approved suspension?

Planning for and making a shopping list for a couple DIY GEH's for some buddies. Two of them are big fella's 275 and 310. I see some of the newer suspension Dutch bling is not rated for that much. Any suggestions on Which Dutch suspension bling to use? Obviously, a whoopie, tree straps and a toggle will get it done but looking for a little nicer setup.

    Cheers!

Titanium cinch buckles are what I would go with. Easy to detach , strong, and the simplest form of adjustment imo

I'm a big guy, 275, and I have used the whoopie hook, double whoopie hook, spiders, and cinch bugs all with success.

I have to put conservative weight ratings on my suspensions. Remember what is really important is the angle of the suspension from the tree. Your friend will put a lot less stress on a suspension at 30 degrees than a 200 pound person that then has a 5 degree angle. Upgrading any amsteel pieces to 1/8th will make it bomb proof. If you use a Dutch Clip or a Biner for that matter, try to have the suspension line run straight rather than have it make a sharp turn at the device. This is done by having it one the one side of the tree. The only suspension I would really be concerned with when the above is abided is the spiders. The amsteel pinches down pretty hard on the webbing on that suspension.

If you use the buckles be sure to get the strap perfectly straight. My 180# self has shredded a strap, because my buckle was crooked.

    yep

make some strap keepers, help line up the straps

not a fan of cinch buckles

webbing from Warbonnet, AHE, Dutch or Sailrite, triangles and 1/8" amsteel
    it's all about the triangles

Do you use the ti-cinch buckles or the original ones? I'm on the larger size as well, and while I'm leaning toward the ti-buckles, the 300lb rating vexes me. Would feel pretty silly investing in 3000lb webbing and 1/8" amsteel only to have the buckle fail on me.
