Can you do a Whoopies in 3/8" hollow poly rope...?

Larger diameter rope requires longer buries. I'm surprised that Gargoyle's worked. They shouldn't have.

Guidelines are usually followed...

The bury lengths are for max rope strength, and a few 100 pounds is no where near the max rating of the line.
It is best to follow the manufacturers rules, but I tend to vary...I am a rebel.

Flash, I made one of these chairs years ago and loved it. One tweak I did was do an adjustable back to the chair. I made some whoopies for the chair's back, and could recline the chair. Prussiks can also work.

Garg~~ This one has a couple of loopings thru the side dangle points and a two-hole poly "line-tensioner" right behind the dangle that you snug up to prevent slippage, so you CAN fiddle a bit and change the backslope.

Given that I have next to nothing in it, I'm pretty happy with this thing. I sure wouldn't go out and buy one... And I certainly wouldn't buy one quite this colorful. I'm more of a heather tone guy.
But it looks sweet for Memorial Day. I suspect that the little old lady had gotten it specifically because she expected family and friends to drop by on the patriotic holidays.
