    My rain dripline water stoppage

Hope this helps someone. This is the method I thought would work well for those rainy nights/days. My testing seems to prove it does indeed work. I had a little wicking down the whoopie, but otherwise no water made it past the green pursik knot. I sprayed about two mins worth of water on the line.

The hole is smaller diameter than the whoopie so to 'pinch' slightly to prevent wicking.

I applaud you for your thinking. The most effective and simplest method I have found is simply tying a simple piece of string to your suspension line.

Nice idea. Light and simple. I've used a piece of paracord tied around my whoopies in the past and it worked well. I have Dutch biners connecting my whoopies to the continues loops and so far they've worked well as a water break. If i were going whoopies straight to the hammock i would definitely try your idea.

I get all effete and fancified.. I make locked brummels in the end of 8" pieces of mason's twine and bury the other end. Just larkshead or prussic it over your line a couple of inches under the edge of the tarp overhang.
You can make them up really quickly while sitting around the campfire, and pass them out to your friends.

    [not as effective on straps]

Thanks for the complements. I'm not smart enough to use mathematical calculations, I just have a idea, then test and tweak until it works.

I really like the milk lid idea. I'm stealing it.
