Wow I feel right at Home!
An Aussiemeet sounds terrific! I'm sure we'd all learn a lot from each other, before alcohol poisoning sets in Sure has been hot and humid these last couple of weeks.
Maybe we should meet out near Parkes or Canberra so we're kinda half-way between Sydney and Melbourne? Anyone know a place with LOTS of trees?

Hi ozzies alienjeff650 from Ballina. Any hangers from this area? I have a Suzuki Dr 650 and take my hammock every where its great, just pull up somewhere nice (by a stream is recommended) string it up and sit back to watch tenters set theres up and in the morning listen to them winge and wine about the terrable sleep they had. ill never go back to a tent agn. The next hammock will be a DD travel for the bivi aspect. I use D rings in my current hammock( ill workout how to post pics soon promise) with 2" straps its cheap and it works and have not had a bit of rain get in. I also made a storm cover out of a cheap bivi tarp $30 and sewed on velcro tabs to close. Have'nt had to use it yet but its there when the wind and rain turns the wrong direction
Till next time tight Hammocks

Hi alienjeff60,
Although I currently live in Sydney, I'm up near Kyogle visiting my folks for Christmas as I write this, and hopefully mid-year will be relocaing to Coffs Harbour. I can believe how good a hammock would be for bike touring - I find myself eyeing all the trees on the side of the highway as I travel up and down, looking for potential stealth camping sites. It keeps me occupied on the long drives anyway!
