Please Talk Me Off the Ledge!!

I recently created my own down Top Quilt. It was my first experience with a sewing machine therefore was easily one of the most difficult projects I've ever completed. Now that it's done I feel compelled to add a little patch for Nothing but superficial purposes. I didn't want to sew the patch on during the build because I didn't want to give the Down feathers another place to escape from. Also, I didn't want to iron it on because I understand that's a very tricky process with 1.1 Diamond Ripstop if not a terrible idea all together.
The question I've been asking myself lately is, "Is there some type of adhesive that would make this work?" I know super glue would eat through the nylon, but I don't know how a silicone based glue would react with the patch. I threw a couple pictures up of what I'm hoping to accomplish.

Has anyone else tried and succeeded in doing this? Or do I just need to be talked off the ledge from a bad idea..?
    Thanks in advance!

Dude, with all the stitching on the quilt, what's a tiny bit more for the patch? I think you're over reacting about the extra places for down to escape.

What about using some VHB tape? Not sure how well it would work with fabric though.

Great looking quilt. And i love the nerd patch.
There are two kinds of people in this world. Those that can extrapolate from incomplete data.

Fabri-Tac permanent fabric adhesive. Test on scraps first.

Have you ever worked with Fabri-Tac? I did ask about that in my local Jo-Anne but the lady I was talking wasn't sure about it.

I would use a very tiny needle and hand stitch the patch onto the quilt.

I've used it on hammocks to help with the rolled hems, just enough dots to hold the first roll. If you're not careful it can bleed through leaving a dark spot, so use sparingly and don't press too hard. Mostly I've used it to attach pieces of reinforcement material to the inside of the hem where I make the button holes stitches for the knotty mods. It seems to stick really well, although I haven't tried to rip it apart either. Once you apply the glue, attach the pieces quickly, it drys/cures fast. Spend a fair bit of time playing on scraps and you'll figure it out. BTW, it won't stick to silicone fabrics.

One more thing. Watch carefully if you're getting fabric adhesive locally, a lot of the stuff out there is water soluble and therefore not permanent. Fabri-Tac is permanent.

i suppose the smart thing to do would be to run out and grab a bunch of cheap patches for testing.
