    What am doing wrong?

Thanks all. I made the adjustments and let out my ridgeline by at least a foot, maybe more. Much better! Here is a pic of my new hang. If you have more suggestions, please let me know.

Thanks singingcrowsings for the offer. If I have more trouble, I'll take you up on that.

Have you tried different hammocks? Good excuse to get to a group hang...

Maybe try lying a bit less on a diagonal, some people are more comfortable straight. You'll get it I see it looks better in the last pic

Looks much better. Be patient in the hammock quest. It pays off.
    Carry forth.

You got it. Looking good and cozy now. That hammock sag is just the way I like it. Always get that foot end up slightly higher than the head to keep your head up where it belongs. It allows you to get a flat lay.

FWIW, what kind of bug net are you using? I like it. God Bless

    Thanks all!

Shug, you made my day. I love your videos. They've been very helpful for a noob.

WV Mountaineer, that's a Fronkey bugnet with omnitape openings I made myself. It was the first time I ever used a sewing machine. I worked out pretty well. Now that my ridgeline is much longer, I'll need to extend one side a little. It's pretty tight.

When in doubt, bust out the tape measure. The sweet-spot or at least a good starting point for the ridgeline is 83% of the hammock length. For example, if you've got an 11' hammock (132") then you'd want about a 110" ridgeline. I added an adjustable ridgeline to a tablecloth hammock I made while deployed. I went back and forth on the length and ended up right back where I started, at the 83% mark.

Too much sag, not enough diagonal, and too level (foot end should be at least a foot higher than head end [notice you slid forward towards your feet?]).

The calf-ridge is from gathering too much fabric between your hips and heels, and/or not having your butt centered.
