Not hanging end up on ground

I made a 11 Ft war bonnet clone with a foot box and shelf I have a 102 inch ridge line I made whoopie slings with7/64 inch amsteel I have eno straps. I weight 270 I used 60 inch material then added 10 inches on one side and the footbox self on the other side so the hammock is deep. Like the directions say. I get in the hammock and I am sitting on the ground. It seems like the amsteel or the straps are stretching. The whoopie sling is staying where I set it. I bought some strap material off ripstop by the roll so I can make new straps because I have multiple hammocks

I was thinking of going with continuous loops and just making some new straps with the polyester strap material I am not sure if eno are polystyrene or nylon

    Any suggestions greatly appreciated

If it's the Eno Atlas straps they should be ok. I remember checking to make sure they weren't nylon when I bought a set.

What's the hammock made of? And what distance and height are your anchors?

Sounds a lot like your material is stretching. What material did you choose to make the hammock?

I doubt the problem is the fabric, not with 2x 1.9oz. If it is the fabric then it’s really bad quality and not suitable for a hammock. If it is bad fabric I think you will see permanent deformation (stretch).

Nylon straps can stretch. IMO polyester is better.

Maybe the bury on your whoopie slings are too short? If so it can’t lock and starts to slide. To some degree the length of the bury depends on the load. We all want them as short as possible and as close to the hammock ends but we have to respect gravity and the friction lock otherwise we end up on the ground.
If there is nothing left to learn it’s time to die.
    Live and learn.

Yes. A good set of suspension straps are not all that expensive. Here's one of many examples.

Which ENO straps are you using? I've never had amsteel stretch like that, nor my Atlas Straps back when I used them. If your whoopies are staying where you set them to begin with, I'd say the issue is with your hammock, or you just aren't setting up far enough off the ground to compensate for the sag when you get in.

Definitely the straps stretching... When I first started with hammocks I tried some tubular nylon webbing rated to take about 4,000 lbs of force for straps and they stretched enough to take me from chair height to the ground on about a 13' span. You could actual feel the stretch if you bounced in it.

I think it is the staps also I got them off siera trading post. The straps are less than an inch in width. I got some material Polestester webbing from ripstop by the roll to make new straps but I am preparing for a canoe camping trips so I am going to tent it then make some new straps after I come back

You could temporarily tie a loop in the end rather than sew
