    When I researched hammocks I found a few ways of gathering and I tried 2 different ways of gathering, the first I kind of didn't like, it felt weird. I don't know if at this time I'm going to try to make a fixed or sewed end with a channel for a loop to be fed through. I'll probably try that eventually. right now I'm working on modifying that sleeping bag to make it a more appropriate under quilt.

    Hammock set up two out of the nine times I used it and my bicycle fully loaded ~115 lbs. I was hopping the hammock would allow me to shed weight but I think this was about the same if not more than my tent.

    First hang, not so pleasant.

    There's certainly a lot of trial and error involved. Don't get discouraged, hammock camping is extremely comfortable once you work out the kinks.
