    Looks like a lot of fun! Thanks for sharing and the tips! I had not seen that fire setup before. I'll have to try and build my own gates of hell!

    thanks! i used to just tie up a cheap piece of tarp that's about 3'x3' way over the fire pit as a roof until it gets strong enough on it's own but not anymore after learning that siberian firelay - works great even in heavy rain and no extra gear needed...give it a go!
