    Storage?

How does everyone store their hammocks, insulation, and tarps? I have a cheap, quickly thrown-together version of a DIY snakeskin, but it's falling apart and I'm looking to upgrade. Ideas for cheap-ish snake skins? Also, how should I store my underquilt while backpacking (same as a sleeping bag)? Not necessarily an ounce counter, but super heavy options aren;t the best. Should I store my gear differently long-term than I do while on a trip?

I store my quilts in the cotton bags that came with them and then in large plastic bins in a walk in closet. When backpacking I simply "cram" my quilts into the bag filling any open areas. There are a lot of places that sell snake skins and are inexpensive like these from Warbonnet.

    Backpacking:

Hammock stays in the included stuff sack it came with.
Tarp is in a mesh sleeve I got from HG on a half off sale ($10) and stored on the outside mesh pocket.
TQ is just smooshed into the bottom of the pack inside the pack liner (trash compactor bag).
UQ use the stuff sack it came with to protect the suspension. Probably just being paranoid.

    Home:
The quilts are stored uncompressed in the big sacks they came with. Alternative, use large pillow cases.
Tarp and hammock are dried out then stored in the mesh sleeve/stuff sack.

Cram into the pack on trail. At home I use mesh laundry bags from Walmart for $1 each.
