To Seam Seel or Not to Seam Seel my DIY Top Quilt...?

Last weekend I took a stab at making a DIY Top Quilt for myself... I've NEVER sewn anything a day in my life but I figured, how hard could it be? - It was HARD.

In the end it turned out pretty well and I'm extremely proud that I pulled this one out but I have a lingering question. Should I get some seam seeler to help water proof the quilt and help my rookie seems out a little? Does anyone seam seel their Top Quilt?

    Here are the specs:
    karo step baffling
    1.1oz Diamond Ripstop Nylon
    .5oz no seeum baffles. 6'' long x 2'' tall
    12oz 850 fill power down

    48" wide
    78" long

Any and all help is MUCH appreciated!
    Thanks!

No, don't seam seal your quilt. Quilt's don't need to be waterproof, and the fabric you used isn't anyway.

Great looking quilt, you should be proud of that. I would be.

As for seam sealing, never heard of that on a quilt (not saying no one does that, just never heard of it). I try to keep my quilts as far away from water as possible.

I would rather be in the woods... my dog would rather be in the pool. My wife thinks we are both nuts.

Am I seeing that correctly? Your scale reads in FLUID OUNCES? ! I wouldn't bother seam sealing it, as has been said. Just keep it dry. Great looking quilt. Nice work!

haha it does. I suppose my attention to detail skills were spent by the time I got to weighing the finished product.
Thank you all for the compliments, it's nowhere near perfect but it's all mine.
So it sounds like a resounding 'NO' to the seam seeler and I"m not going to argue with minds that are smarter than mine. Does anyone know of some method to cover some of the more unsightly seams? I have some little pieces of thread here and there that are bunched or, in some cases, looped up a bit. Is there a way to protect those from catching and pulling up? Or is it down to living with it and doing my best to be careful?

    Thanks!

Sleeping bag/quilt don't seam tape or use water resistant coat fabric. Because moisture can't volatile.

    Thank you!
I knew I wanted to do Karo Step because I didn't want to have to measure out the down for each baffle. So with that, and my goal dimensions in mind i printed some graph paper from Excel and drew up a plan for 12" squares created by 6" baffles. I tried to do as much research a reading up as I could before jumping in the cold water.
*The picture below is not what 'actually' got created. Once I finally cut the fabric all bets were off and I'd be left with whatever I was left with. lol
