The Toughest ROBIC yet - 420D is HERE

If you're looking to get into pack making and want something tough and durable, there aren't a lot of options outside of higher denier Cordura. These are very nice, but they aren't what's being used in most of your commercial backpack brands such as Gregory, Osprey, etc. This didn't sit well with us, so we set out to change it.

Introducing 420D ROBIC - the latest in our market first line of ROBIC ripstop nylon materials. We started ultra light with the 1.0 ROBIC XL and now we're at the other end of the spectrum. If you're looking to save weight or make a minimalist pack, 420D ROBIC is NOT for you. BIG, BURLY, TOUGH - this is the language of 420D ROBIC.

Like most things we've done lately, it wasn't possible to push the envelope to our satisfaction with stock fabrics. 420D ROBIC is woven custom for us and finished to our exact specs. We've even added an extra UV protective coating to mitigate color fade and protect the integrity of the material over time.

We've also made the investment to give you 7 color options right from the start, including a couple NEW colors in Coyote and Foliage....

I expect great packs. Go forth. Hike well.

    THANKS

Wow! No wonder 420D kept showing out of stock for the last few weeks. Looking forward to trying this out with some HyperD 300 for my next pack project.

Cool look forward to checking it out. I have to carve out some time to plan my first pack build here soon. Here's hoping....

I'm midway through a pack project with "old" 420D, HyperD 300, and Hex 70 which will be a small pack for my daughter. Hopefully it looks good enough to post up when I'm done and I have plenty of sketches/templates. It's in some way meant to be a prototype for a new pack for me which I was leaning towards x-pac, but this "new" 420D now looks like my first choice especially with all of the colors and UV resistance.

Ha, we do have two new full-time team members starting in the next week or so. That should free up some of my time

    Thanks in advance Leslie!

In terms of stiffness - to make a bag that stands up on its own - how does this 420D Robic compare to xpac, which has fantastic stiffness?
