Seems somewhat more than normal. I use them too and also love them.

I'd take a bit of sandpaper to the "horns" and get them as smooth as possible. I also suggest rotating the CLs a bit and spread out the wear.

CLs are cheap and easy to make. They're so light and small that carrying a spare pair is always a good plan.

Cinch bug problem or not ?

Thanks i am leaving for a three day hang in am
I will rotate them a bit and try the sandpaper
Come to think of it i had whoopies on before the cl and it frayed them as well
Is there another system similar to this that is less abusive to the cordage or did i get a bad batch

Whata u think about putting a knot over the damaged ends and rotate them until i can figure this out n get replacements

Your original pics do look like there is more wear than I would expect. If you contacted Dutch he would likely swap them out for another pair and he'd make certain they were smooth. I seem to recall he's done that before.

I use a Dremel on most of the Dutchware I get. Nothing against Dutch, I just like to make sure everything is smooth.

Also, I use 1/8" amsteel for my loops, which works well.

I have many more hangs than that on a set of loops, with much less damage.

Though, there's a small part of me that still wishes it'd abrade the amsteel less. Oh well, continuous loops are cheap to make!
