    How to attach fleaz?

I just got some Fleaz from Dutch and am wondering what is the BEST way to attach them to my tarp. On his website he shows them attached to the tarp with continuous loops. Is there a reason for doing this over just attaching them directly? I have the Superfly tarp with split-rings so it seems to make sense to just put them right on there but if there's a better reason for the loops, I'll do that.

I have a Warbonnet Edge, hooked them right to the split rings. Mine were a little too tight on the zing-it, followed advice from a few other threads to open them up a tiny bit with a screwdriver, now they are perfect.

I like mine on loops. It makes them easily removable and, if need be, more versatile.

I think it's just personal preference really. I have one tarp where they are attached to a split ring on the tarp. I have another on CL. Potato, Pahtahto.

I use a CRL on my Superfly with a dutch hook on one side that connects to a zingit continuous loop, and a flea on a continuous loop that is attached to the ring on the side.

Good. I'm glad to hear it's a personal preference thing. I ended up going with continuous loops since it was too hard to get the split-ring open anyway. :P

It's much easier if you're using loops. They bite pretty hard and can be a PITA to undo. With the loop you can simply turn them a bit to unhook them and then turn them by 180° to easily pull the cord from under the antenna. That's not possible (or at least very hard to do) when they're attached to the split rings.

I can't resist now that he has quality answers... You have to purchase a really small Flea Collar to make the attachment easier and to get the Fleaz to do their trick!

The sad reality is it is very easy to become attached to Fleaz. The real question is how to become unattached. See, the more time one spends with their Fleaz, the greater the bond, and the more beautiful the relationship can become. I have begun to name my Fleaz individually to help them feel more uniquely appreciated. I use Flyz for my RL, but my tie-outs are connected long-term to Dori, Ori, Nori, and Thorin Oakenshield. The names just kind of popped into my head.

Some personal recommendations are to get a signed prenuptial agreement so that you ever find yourself upgrading to something smaller, lighter, and stronger, you will be in a better position to resolve the end in your relationship. I kind of had the same experience with my TarpFlyz when Fleaz were first introduced. They still send me angry letters demanding larvae support and financial compensation for emotional damages. If I could do it all again I would have opened up separate bank accounts because the little bug-gers went and emptied my bank account buying Zing-it in bulk. Dutch still blames all of us Canadians for the large purchases when in reality it was the Flyz.

So yes, Fleaz attachment is something you want to be very careful about. You're wise to ask.
