I like them. While I use straps/buckles I like these because of weight and simplicity of use for my nephews to use. They both like to hang their own gear and these type of straps makes that possible for even a younger child.

Do I like them at the price they are being offered at? Hmmm, not so much.

These "daisy chain" style straps are the quickest method I've found, and the 10' straps allow for very diverse hammock placement.

This can be a little deceptive. Are we talking about breaking point or working load limit?

6' Kevlar tree straps plus whoopie slings and toggles weight 2.0 ounces each, so quite a bit lighter. Plus whoopie slings are really easy to use. I applaud people for trying to invent new things, but I don't really see what problem this is trying to solve.

    Website says tensile strength.

I like the simplicity for those times I take groups of teens/college kids out camping since it is "child proof" and keeps me from having to set up every single hammock. Sure, I can teach cinch buckle/straps and whoopie slings in no time but there's time to do that during the outing other than the initial set up.

New LIGHTER suspension straps in Kickstarter program

Ultimate Hammocks is proposing a new 2.4 oz strap like the Python Strap by Kammok or Atlas strap by ENO

You can see it here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects...-every-hammock

Their gimmick is to put a taper in the line after it goes around the tree; that cuts the weight while the stitching and material maintain the strength.

Via the kick starter program they are a little less ($25) than the $30 normally changed by ENO/Kammok.

If you participate, be a sure to read the contribution "reward" carefully. At $25 you get 1 pair of straps. At $45 you get 2 pairs of straps. But at $55 you are back to 1 pair of straps and a hammock.

In my history, I started with line and rings (Hennessy Hammocks), moved to webbing, learned to make whoopie slings, and for the last year or so have used python straps. Sometimes they are a little short for NW trees so I tried the ENO XL Atlas straps. ENO's "error" is they just made the part that goes around the tree longer without adding more steps to the length. As a result, if you end up with smaller diameter trees, you have to wrap that part around twice, making it more difficult to adjust the suspension up/down the tree trunk.

These kickstarter straps are 2.4 oz at 10 ft with 17 steps.

I understand that "Ultimate Hammocks" might not have a following, but I'm sure their attorneys will make sure these straps are adequately engineered.

I have no affiliation with Ultimate and am just mentioning the steps here because they are a little less money and a little less weight and appear to do the job just as well.

I think they are cool. They are also woven together at the strap point, instead of sewn I believe. Which is their real selling point. However, the weight is pretty misleading because you have to use a carabiner to make it work.

I've used every type of suspension there is. I bought a set of these too because... Why not?

I don't like using carabiners, but this is great for a newcomer or on a loaner setup.

Cool idea, but am I the only one who cringed when they strung that hammock that tight? Just thinking out loud.
