I don't need to make my pack lighter. I need to make my (_*_) lighter.
Thanks! I started with a robin egg blue base, dyed in blue, then re tied and dyed in red. Wasn't as happy that the spiral shape didn't really come through, but I liked the red/blue splotches.
I just used regular Rit dye from walmart. Twist and the the hammock like you want and stick in a ziplock freezer bag. Pour one bottle RIT dye in a pot with 2 cups water and 2 cups vinegar. Heat to 180 degrees while stirring, and then dump in the bag with the hammock. push the bag down until all the air is out, and seal. Flip every 20 minutes or so, and after about two hours, remove, rinse really well in the sink, and then wash the whole thing in the washer, double rinse. Dry on low or air fluff with an old towel.
First night in the new hammock over the weekend. Sleeps SO good. Love the length and it feels great to lay in. The side zippers are a big improvement over bottom entry for a hammock. Just a great night.
