I'd rather spend 10 bucks on any coghlan or cheap suspended net for the dog if he REALLY needs one (although I don't see a reason why he would but I'm no longer a dog owner), it would still be lighter than the amazon with floor option.
Even if the dog carries his own backpack and everybody's moquito nets, it'll be lighter for him

I like the Fronkey bugnet. No way I'd buy any bugnet as heavy as that Amazon bugnet.

I don't have a dog, and only know what tenters do with their dogs, and this seems to correspond, hence my choice or word.... "valid".

I too like the Fronkey net. I don't want anything touching the ground.

Having my Tarp wet is the only thing I like wet and that rides outside the pack. I wouldn't use that Amazon floor net because that would be a wet item that would end up in my pack. That or something else to remove from the hammock. My Fronkey style net stays on the hammock and packed in same stuff sack.

I use a gear hammock so everything is off the ground and I don't need a "floor".
Enjoy and have fun with your family, before they have fun without you

I have the monster grand trunk with a floor, and indeed it is heavy and complicated to setup, but was perfect for a week at scout camp.
it kept the creepy crawlies out of my boots and gear. I could stand up barefoot for those middle of the night restroom breaks. and i have a habit of kicking off my TQ in the summer, it was nice to know it was just below me and bug free. adventure point has a LOT of ticks and spiders.

Yeah, weight was my first thought as well. I've sewn a Fronkey style net and they work great, but it is a bit clumsy to get into and out of. But they really do keep the bugs out, even in a Sierra summer mosquito swarm.
